Clarissa
“ Lissa ” Hutcheson currently works as the director of catechetical ministry at Mary , Star of the Sea Catholic Church in La Jolla , CA ; she serves as a Master Catechist and teaches for the San Diego Diocesan Institute . She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from the University of La Verne , CA . She had thought to earn a Master of Arts degree in History when the Holy Spirit called her to Theology , earning a Master of Arts in Theology with a concentration in Ecclesial Service from Catholic Distance University in 2016 . In earning a degree in theology at CDU , she has come to know the Trinity more profoundly and understands her call to evangelize in and through her daily living experience . She has been blessed to be married to her husband , Todd , for 33 years ; together , they have raised two beautiful daughters and are deeply in love with their grandchildren and sons in law . She is a lay Dominican and finds peace and comfort in praying the Liturgy of the Hours .
