God requires what she called “co-human community.”48 In fact Speyr, says, “we exist and are fulfilled
only within a tri-polar unity: I-Thou-God.”49
Woman's Mission to Humanize
her vision can help others see God's love for the whole world
“Tabor vision” can be seen not only as
a personal gift to women, but also as a
mission. This mission is addressed in
the relationship of man and woman
specifically by the writing of Alice von
Hildebrand, because she is writing to a
young bride. However, these insights
on a woman's empathy can be
extrapolated to extend to others.
Woman's gift is to perceive the person
as God intends that person, because God's “safekeeping” contains the whole nature of that person.
Therefore a woman's insight into a person's human nature can help bring forth the humanity God
intends for that person.
Describing this mission in terms of man and woman, Alice von Hildebrand writes, “women,
too, have a mission toward the other sex, one of awakening and refining man's affectivity, often
atrophied by abstractionism. They are definitely called upon to 'humanize' him.”50 Woman not only
perceive through love the truth of a person, through her feminine nature she is uniquely suited to
