Hey you there!

I am Kat, the only female member in this editorial team and I welcome you to April’s Digital Cities edition. This month we're focusing on Edinburgh. As I am a bit of a cultural hybrid and love to travel, this is the fifth city and country for to call my ‘home’ and to be honest, probably one of the most interesting too.

What strikes me about Edinburgh is the abundance of culture going on here – it easily compares with London only that you pay less for entries and that people aren’t as arrogant. At the same time, Edinburgh has the convenient size of my hometown but in contrast to Hanover manages to be exciting for visitors. And, unlike London or Shanghai, it’s one of the easiest places to live alongside tourists as even the centre will offer secrets spots for locals to enjoy in peace. The only thing I miss about Edinburgh is the fact that before coming here I’ve ever lived in a city without trams… But there are enough puns on the Edinburgh tram project already, so I’ll spare you that.

Enough rambling for now! Join me on my journeys through Edinburgh’s coffee and whisky scene, explore its university societies with me and see if I uncover edanything you didn’t know about yet. Me and the rest of the team are thrilled about the end result and hope you find it as exciting as we do!

Happy reading!
