First Nations Longhouse opens. It
provides a space for UBC students and
broader community members from
various nations to come together and
learn about Aboriginal history and
culture.
1999
Trek 2000: A Vision for the 21st Century
is published. “The document sets out a
series of principles, goals, strategies and
operational timetables that will guide
UBC as it leads the way in serving the
people of British Columbia, Canada and
the world. The document focuses on five
major areas: people, learning, research,
community and internationalization.”
