Visit the Sail Power & Steam Museum, a hands-on working museum featuring sailmaking and rigging rooms. See“ make‘ n break” gas and steam engines, historic shipbuilding and hand tools, and architectural half models. Explore a fully equipped boat shop, a working sailmaker’ s bench, and a navigation room with operating radars. Highlights also include a shipwreck exhibit from 1898, a functioning lime kiln, and detailed models of Penobscot schooners and steamboats.
