THE GREAT CANADIAN MAPLE EXPERIENCE
Board our Canadian coach for a“ sweet” day, as we take you to Goulais Bay Village, just outside of Sault Ste. Marie and near the mouth of Lake Superior. Visit Hogans Homestead, a local maple syrup producer. Led by Hogan family members, explore a sugar bush of Red Maple Trees, learn about the maple syrup and sugar process from tapping the trees to the boiling process. Enjoy samples along the way and visit their gift shop, where you can purchase Canadian syrup or maple sugar candies. Next visit Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site, a historic fur trader establishment, where maple syrup and sugar were an important trade item at the turn of the 19th century. Enjoy a Northern Ontario maple syrup lunch, discover the importance of maple syrup to the region, and explore the site. Be entertained by historical interpreters in and around the grounds, as well as a multi-media movie presentation, before your guide leads you back to the ship.
