Norfolk Botanical Garden Exploration
Enjoy a guided exploration at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, Virginia’ s largest garden, featuring 175 acres of breathtaking scenery. Since its beginnings in 1938, the gardens have exploded with growth over the decades. Today, more than 60 themed gardens can be viewed by tram, boat or by foot. Themed gardens include the Bristow Butterfly Garden, the Sarah Lee Baker Perennial Garden, the Virginia Native Plant Garden, and the Margaret Moore Hall Bicentennial Rose Garden.
A Walk through Historic Portsmouth
Your adventure begins when Andrew Sproule and Mary Veale meet you at the gangplank to escort you to the ferry. The largest collection of standing period architecture between Alexandria and Charleston becomes the backdrop for history, period song, and colonial culture. Enjoy a rest on a pew as you explore the Historic Trinity Episcopal Church established in 1762. Take a short walk to finish your excursion at Historic Hill House. Andrew and Mary will then escort you to the ferry, and back to the ship in time for lunch.
