Trail of Tears State Park commemorates
the tragedy of the forced march of
Cherokees through North Carolina,
Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri,
and Arkansas to Oklahoma. The park
allows you to retrace the steps of the
Cherokee through a series paintings,
maps, and artifacts.

Join a local guide on a narrated
exploration of Cape Girardeau. Travel
to the Crisp Museum features fine art
exhibitions, prehistoric Native American
artifacts, one of the largest collections
of ceramic conch shell effigies in North
America, and interpretive regional history
displays. Upon arrival, watch a wonderful
introductory film, followed by a museum
tour where you will view a life sized replica
of a Native American dwelling.
