Established in 1801 by Marietta city founders, the Mound Cemetery preserves the Great Mound( also known as Conus), a prehistoric Adena burial mound, with more American Revolutionary War officers buried in it than any other cemetery in the country. Led by a guide, explore this ancient ground and hear stories of Adena and Hopewell Mound Builders, Marietta founders, Revolutionary War veterans, and other historically significant Marietta residents.
