Digital Beading Magazine Issue 9 - April 2014 | Page 2

From the Editor... WELCOME to Issue 9 of Digital Beading Magazine... as you can see, I’ve traded my beaded kitty ears for a wire tiara - one of the gothic-themed pieces included in Lisa Jimenez’s project special (starts on Page 112). To make my tiara - go straight to Page 122. One of my absolute favourite projects in this issue is our cover girl and Preciosa Ornela ambassador Kerrie Slade’s Rose Window Rivolis earrings - these are just divine! In silver and gold colourways, you can’t go wrong - these earrings are simply stunning. Kelly Nealon, Editor Another standout project in this issue is Caron Reid’s Poppy Loomed Cuff - this beautiful loomed design features a gorgeous lampwork glass poppy and beaded stem - so eye-catching! UK beaded jewellery designer Lynn Davy’s “Wave Cuff” is another beautiful tutorial in this issue - worked in five different shades of blue, this wave-inspired cuff certainly makes a splash. We have a few project specials in this issue on Page 112 you’ll find Lisa Jimenez’s Gothic Jewellery Special - featuring 10 fabulously dark designs - and on Page 72 Lisa has created a four-project spePretty cial embracing the Edwardian era. Deb Mahoney of Aussie Maille is back with the second instalment in her six-part tutorial special - in this issue she teaches Byzantine, European 4-in-1 and Double Spiral weaves.
