Giving With Passion
Giving back is something we talk about a lot at Deeley Insurance Group — and we do much more than talk . A shared commitment to serving our communities is part of the cultural fabric here , and we are intentional about how we can make the world a better place for everyone to live , work , and play .
During the pandemic , our hands-on volunteering mostly halted , so we gave our team members an opportunity to select a local nonprofit or charity to support with Deeley funds . ( Read about Deeley Green on page 31 .) It was amazing to see the variety of groups selected and how our passions for different “ soft spots ” allowed us to touch so many organizations that especially needed help during Covid-19 .
Personally , I was touched by the story of Charlie ’ s Angels , an animal rescue project founded by four women with one thing in common : an unconditional love of animals . This spoke to me ! They met while volunteering at a spay-and-neuter clinic in a mountain village and decided to form Charlie ’ s Angels to help abandoned and neglected animals . The nonprofit survives because of its volunteers and donors . The group has no financial partners and works hard every day to raise funds to continue its mission .
Founding Friends of Charlie ’ s Angels of Costa Rica is a passion project for me as an animal lover and a way for my family , friends , and colleagues to get involved , too . By forming a nonprofit to raise funds for Charlie ’ s Angels , we know we ’ re making a big difference by supporting their mission . And the ripple effect is even better because every animal that is rescued and adopted touches a family in a very special way .
It doesn ’ t take deep pockets or an extraordinary effort to give back . We can all help in some way , and sometimes the smallest things make the biggest difference .
