Deeley Green : Planting Seeds of Hope

Giving back to the community is part of our culture at Deeley Insurance Group . The pandemic limited the boots-on-the-ground volunteerism of Deeley Serves , our outreach group , but we still wanted to help meet the needs of the community . So we encouraged and empowered our employees to give to what speaks to their hearts . We call the initiative Deeley Green .
We gifted each team member with a donation to give to an organization of their choice . More than 30 organizations were touched by the effort , opening our eyes to a wide range of worthy groups supporting our communities .
Kimberly Furbush • Client Relations Agent VISITING ANGELS FOUNDATION
I chose to donate my Deeley Green to Visiting Angels due to their loving care and compassion for the elderly . They provide assistance with daily chores as well as friendship and emotional support . Their name fits them perfectly . My mother was blessed to have one of their Angels .
Lisa Briddell • Sr . Human Resources Generalist WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN
Women Supporting Women is special to me because when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2004 , having WSW reach out to me with words of encouragement and comfort , both to me and my family , was absolutely AMAZING ! They were always there to walk me through every process . For that , I am forever grateful and can ’ t thank this support group enough for all the wonderful things they do ! # cancerfreefor17years
Kelley Callis • Senior Marketing Coordinator LIFE CRISIS CENTER
A few years ago , I was speaking with a lady who works with Life Crisis and was so intrigued by what they do for the community . This group of people advocate for and provide a wide range of services to victims of domestic violence , sexual assault , and child abuse . They also do the suicide hotline for the entire Eastern Shore .
Alicia Woodhouse • Client Relations Agent WICOMICO GOES PURPLE
I chose to support Wicomico Goes Purple because it ’ s close to my heart . Losing someone to an overdose , I have experienced firsthand the struggles those suffering an addiction and their families go through . Wicomico Goes Purple brings awareness and services to the community to educate and promote conversations about substance abuse , illegal and prescription drug abuse .
Jayme Thompson • Accounting Associate ALZHEIMER ’ S FOUNDATION
I miss my grandmother very much . Unfortunately , dementia has taken her mind , but it has not taken our memories . Anyone who has dealt with this disease feels the pain watching our loved one fade with time . I pray for a cure so families like ours – and many others in the future – can have a longer and healthier life with their loved one . This is why the Alzheimer ’ s and Dementia Foundation is so important to me .
Steve Sullivan • Marketing Analyst THE CRICKET CENTER
I chose the Cricket Center because it ’ s a great cause that helps in healing and protecting children .
Tammy Jones • Senior Client Support Technician WORCESTER COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY
The Worcester County Humane Society is close to my heart . There are so many abandoned and mistreated animals in this world , and the people who care for them are very special , showing the animals that there are people who will love and take care of them . They go above and beyond for these animals .
Bethany Miller , CISR • Client Relations Agent FORGE YOUTH AND FAMILY ACADEMY
Forge Youth and Family Academy ’ s mission to “ break the cycle of bad choices ” means so much to me and my community . This organization lovingly and supportively helps local youth and families find purpose and growth that is waiting on the other side of their fears , frustrations , and failures .
Brandi Jones , CISR • Client Relations Agent HUMANE SOCIETY OF WICOMICO COUNTY
Owning a pet can increase both a person ’ s well-being and longevity . Now more than ever , that is needed . Making sure the animals are taken care of until they find a forever home is beneficial to both parties .
