Toy Cars Real Racing

Tell us a little about yourself and how you got interested in Diecast cars.

I'm from Ohio and still living there today with my family. And I'd have to say, like most folks, the interest started when I was kid. I had more Hot Wheels than any other toy so they were always just there and around. This was late-70s/early-80s so while not quite the true "classic" Hot Wheels, I like to think I grew up with some of the best castings ever released.

But I have to admit that I haven't been into collecting Hot Wheels my whole life. As I grew up, there was a lot competing for my toy time and Hot Wheels were pretty much left behind. Much of my collection ended up smashed against the wall or buried in my parent's backyard. Video games, computers and other fun became the focus until much, much later after college when I just so happened to buy Tail Dragger at the store. I just thought it was a great looking car...and what's a dollar? Buying that car kind of kicked off my getting into collecting Hot Wheels. I would scout out the cars I loved and exclusively buy them and whatever variants I could find. It was a great way to get back into toy cars.
