Notice of City Council Candidate Filing Period
• Resident of the City of Victoria for at least 30 days prior to the general election
• Citizen of the United States
• Registered voter
• 21 years of age upon assuming offi ce
• Pay a $2 fi ling fee
Th e candidate fi ling period for a four-year position on the Victoria City Council is July 31–August 14 at Victoria City Hall.
Potential candidates must meet the following candidate fi ling requirements.

If you are interested in fi ling for candidacy, complete the Affi davit of Candidacy and turn it in at Victoria City Hall
between July 31 and August 14 along with the $2 application fee. A candidate packet will be provided to every candidate.
Two city council positions, those currently held by Jim Crowley and Tom Strigel, expire at the end of 2018 and will be on
the general election ballot on November 6, 2018. Th e new terms of offi ce begin at the fi rst city council meeting in January
2019.

Absentee Voting:
All absentee voting for Victoria residents will occur at the Carver County Government Center in Chaska located at
600 East 4th Street. Hours are 8 am–4:30 pm, and the telephone number is 952-361-1910.
