Manager ’ s Note

“ When it comes to life the critical thing is whether you take things for granted or take them with gratitude .” G . K . Chesterton
As another year draws to a close most of you will be in the midst of preparations for this festive season . This very special time of the year gives people a break from the hustle and bustle of our everyday schedules . It provides many of us with some quality time to enjoy the company of family and friends that is all too often absent the rest of the year . I urge everyone to reflect on these special moments and savor the relationships that we have tried so hard to cultivate over the years .
2022 , without a doubt , has been one of the most exciting years for me . First and foremost , I welcomed another grandson , Calvin James . As far as Dickinson Hall excitement , we completed the renovation of the kitchen , welcomed two new additions to the staff , Lisa and Jennifer , and welcomed back Program Supervisor , Katie .
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Dickinson Hall for the tremendous effort they put in day in and day out to make sure that our members are well looked after . Many of you do not see all the demands placed on our staff , but their work is greatly appreciated . To the Lake Forest / Lake Bluff Senior Resources Board and the Senior Resources Commission members , I thank them for their dedication to the success of Dickinson Hall and the many hours of volunteer time to make sure our members are provided with opportunities to continue learning , to network and socialize with other members . Lastly , to you , the members , my sincere appreciation for your support of Dickinson Hall and the pride you demonstrate at being members of this great institute .
On behalf of the staff and myself , we hope this holiday season is an exceptionally good and safe one and that the New Year brings you much health , happiness , and prosperity .
