Dickinson Hall offers the opportunity to try unique fitness
classes specifically designed for seniors. Our fitness needs
change over time and at Dickinson Hall we’ve teamed up with
instructors who focus on balance, flexibility, gentle cardio, and
overall strength. With our convenient FitPass you can pick and
choose when and which classes you attend, no obligation. Our
revamped fitness room is ready for you! Join Lisa Jacobs as she teaches T’ai Chi, Joy through
Movement. Moving Meditation promotes health, wellness,
creativity, and serenity. Graceful moves center the body as
well as energize us. This class is low impact and may be done
standing or sitting.

Seated Yoga (FitPass)
Mondays & Fridays, 9:00 - 10:00 am

In a soothing and relaxed atmosphere, this class includes
gentle yoga movements along with breathing and relaxation
techniques practiced while sitting in a chair. Standing balance
poses using the chair for support are also incorporated into the
practice. Poses are adapted for physical limitations to deepen
flexibility, increase balance confidence, and strengthen body
and mind awareness.
Have you always wondered what it would be like to join a tap
dance fitness class but have been too afraid to join? Instructor
Lisa Jacobs has put together a shorter half-hour class to give
you an introduction to tap so you can see how much fun tap
can be.

Yoga 101 (FitPass)

This traditional yoga on a mat incorporates gentle movements
and modified poses using yoga blocks and straps to
accommodate a wide spectrum of body types and needs.
Poses help strengthen the body and increase range of motion,
while relaxation techniques help connect body, mind and spirit.
Tap your way to great physical condition? You bet! The music
is fun and you’ll have a great time too. Dancers at all levels are
welcome to join in! Can’t make the first class? You can join
anytime!
Fit for Life (FitPass)
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:00 - 10:00 am
Join Instructor Judi Strange for a fabulous mix of fitness, fun
and friendship in an hour-long class consisting of cardio dance,
strength training, balance and stretch. Our focus will be to
increase our cardiovascular and muscular endurance as well
as luxurious stretch. All fitness levels welcome!

Merilee Novinson’s Bo Yoga ® class blends the best of yoga,
qigong and mindfulness training. With the use of a balance bar
this class will improve alignment, leverage, stability and
balance, giving you the therapeutic benefits of yoga with less
risk. Bo Yoga ® is easy to learn and fun to practice. Please bring
a yoga mat and wear loose fitting clothes. This class is done
barefoot or wearing socks with grips. This class will be taught
primarily in stand and in some sitting positions.
