It was found that: • Shortly after diagnosing her patient, Patient A with cancer, Dr. Sundaralingam provided Patient A with her personal phone number and Instagram ID; • Immediately thereafter, she began texting him in a highly personal and sexualized manner; • Very soon after that, they met in a coffee shop; • Within one month, they were discussing sexually explicit topics and engaging in sexually explicit texts; • They lay in a hospital bed together and engaged in kissing and sexual touching; • At his home, they engaged in various sexual activi- ties, including sexual intercourse; • She maintained her sexual relationship with Patient A for many months, in many locations, while she continued to provide Patient A with medical treat- AREA OF PRACTICE: Family Medicine HEARING INFORMATION: Statement of Uncontested Facts; Joint Submission on Penalty On January 30, 2019, the Discipline Committee found that Dr. Szozda committed an act of profes- sional misconduct in that he engaged in an act or omission that would be regarded by members as disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional. Patient A was a patient of Dr. Szozda’s from 1992 to 2016. During appointments with Patient A, Dr. Szozda made inappropriate and unprofessional comments to her, and engaged in inappropriate and unprofessional conduct towards her as follows: a) On May 21, 2013, Patient A attended an ap- pointment with Dr. Szozda for an assessment of her acne. As she was sitting in a chair facing him, Dr. Szozda leaned over and lowered the top of her shirt to expose the upper chest above the bra line to examine her chest for acne.
