The College of Physicians and Surgeons
of Ontario is the licensing and regulatory
body governing the practice of medicine
in Ontario. The College is responsible
for setting and maintaining medical
standards, licensing physicians,
investigating complaints about physicians
on behalf of the public, and disciplining
doctors found to have committed act(s) of
professional misconduct.
Features
9 Right Touch Regulation
How much regulatory force is actually needed to achieve a desired
effect? That is the question posed by a framework recently adopted by
the College.
12 New Process Offers Effective Resolution
When the College receives a complaint, we always review it carefully
before deciding how to proceed. If the matter appears to be a low-risk
concern, our new Alternative Dispute Resolution process may be the
most suitable process.
13 Introducing the College’s New President
We sit down for a Q&A with Dr. Peeter Poldre, who discusses how his
various roles in health care have prepared him for his year as President.
Dialogue is published 4 times a year.
The subscription rate is included in the annual
membership fee and is $36.00.

17 Redesign of College Policies
We are redesigning our policies to enhance their clarity and readability
for physicians.
