The College of Physicians and Surgeons
of Ontario is the licensing and regulatory
body governing the practice of medicine
in Ontario. The College is responsible
for setting and maintaining medical
standards, licensing physicians,
investigating complaints about physicians
on behalf of the public, and disciplining
doctors found to have committed act(s) of
professional misconduct.

11 Continuity of Care – Feedback Wanted
The College has several policies related to continuity of care now out for
consultation and we want to know what you think. While continuity of
care is a broad concept that could include a number of issues, we have
prioritized four key areas: Availability and Coverage; Managing Tests;
Transitions in Care; and Walk-in Clinics.
23 The Protecting Patients Act – New Changes in Force
On May 1, 2018, a number of amendments to the Regulated Health
Professions Act were brought into force. Also, three sets of regulations
were enacted. In particular, physicians should be aware of the definition of
a patient as it pertains to sexual abuse allegations.
Dialogue is published 4 times a year.
The subscription rate is included in the annual

29 New Reporting Requirements to Enhance Road Safety
The medical reporting requirements in the Highway Traffic Act have
been strengthened to clarify which conditions health-care practitioners
are required to report.
