FOR YOUR INFORMATION Dr. Nancy Whitmore to be College's Registrar, CEO Obstetrician-gynecologist has served in successive hospital leadership positions D Dr. Whitmore will assume the role of Registrar, CEO in early June r. Nancy Whitmore will be the next Registrar and CEO of the College. She will assume the role June 4, 2018. Dr. Whitmore is currently CEO at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, where she has served in successive leadership positions. In her previous role, she served as Vice President and Chief of Staff at the hospital. In this role, she had operational accountability for nine departments and responsibil- ity for the supervision and quality of all professional staff and the care provided to patients. Dr. Whitmore received her medi- cal degree from the University of Manitoba and subsequently com- pleted her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Western University. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and also a graduate of the MBA program at the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University. Dr. Whitmore has served in a management or leadership capacity with a number of organizations and as an OBGYN in community and hospital settings. Dr. Steven Bodley, College President, said that Dr. Whitmore has a successful track record of effectively leading a complex or- ganization through change and is recognized as highly skilled in re- lationship building, collaboration, quality improvement and attaining results. “I am pleased to say that we have found in Nancy a leader who will, together with staff, Council and the broader com- munity, take our public protection role to the next level.” MD ISSUE 1, 2018 DIALOGUE 7
