Drs. Steven Bodley, Peeter Poldre to lead Council in coming year
Dr. Steven Bodley
PRESIDENT
Dr. Steven Bodley is the College’s new President.
Dr. Bodley is an anesthesiologist from North Bay, with a practice combining anes-
thesia and chronic pain management. He is on staff at North Bay Regional Health
Centre and is an Associate Professor at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.
Dr. Bodley received his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario and
received his fellowship in Anesthesiology at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Bodley has been a District 8 representative since joining Council in 2009. He has
sat on the following committees: Executive, Quality Assurance, Finance, Methadone,
Discipline, Premises Inspection and Fitness to Practise. He was chair of the Metha-
done Committee from 2011-14 and chair of the Premises Inspection Committee from
2015-2016. In the coming year, he will chair the Executive Committee.
Dr. Peeter Poldre
VICE-PRESIDENT
Dr. Peeter Poldre is the College's Vice-President.
He is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine
and for the past 28 years, he has been a consultant-hematologist at Sunnybrook
Health Sciences Centre.
Dr. Poldre joined the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine in 1984, after
completing a two-year fellowship in Hematology at Tufts-New England Medical
Centre. He has taught extensively and was the inaugural Vice-President Education
and Academy Director at Sunnybrook. In 1998, he earned a Doctorate in Education
from the University of Toronto. Dr. Poldre served for eight years as Sunnybrook's
Vice-President, Medical Professional Practice.
In August 2012, Dr. Poldre was appointed to the College’s Discipline Committee.
In October 2012, he was elected in a by-election in Toronto to College Council. He
was re-elected in 2014. Dr. Poldre served as Chair of the Discipline Committee
from 2015-2017.
