Continuity of Care Conversation – What Do You Think?
The College is holding a conversation about continuity of care. Specifically, we want to know what steps can be taken that would allow
physicians to work in a more coordinated fashion; one that would better ensure the safety of patients as they navigate through a complex
system.
19 Expectations of Professional Behaviour
Unprofessional behaviour not only unsettles and rattles co-workers,
but it can also jeopardize the safety of patients. For that reason, the
College has approved an updated policy that states physicians are expected to act in a respectful, courteous and civil manner towards their
patients, colleagues, and others involved in the provision of health care.
The policy is attached at page 21.

An increase in opioid overdoses has prompted the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention to release opioid prescribing guidelines for
U.S. physicians. The Canadian guideline is also being revised to reflect
evolving evidence.
23 Regulations Target Fentanyl Abuse
The Ontario government is set to introduce regulations that will make it
more difficult for patients to abuse or sell their fentanyl patches.
