that Dr. Yazdanfar committed an act of professional
misconduct, in that she failed to maintain the standard of practice of the profession; she contravened the
advertising regulation; and she engaged in conduct or
an act or omission relevant to the practice of medicine
that, having regard to all the circumstances, would be
reasonably be regarded by members as disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional. She was also found to be
incompetent. The Committee in the First Dr. Yazdanfar
Case rendered a penalty of a two-year suspension of Dr.
Yazdanfar’s certificate of registration, a reprimand, and
the imposition of terms, conditions and limitations on
Dr. Yazdanfar’s certificate of registration for an indefinite period, including restricting her performance of all
surgery except as a surgical assistant in a hospital setting
and other restrictions.
The two-year suspension of Dr. Yazdanfar’s certificate
of registration has now been served but the indefinite
terms, conditions and limitations imposed on Dr.
Yazdanfar’s certificate of registration in the First Dr.
Yazdanfar Case remain in force.
The matter before this Committee are two further
complaints regarding Dr. Yazdanfar from Patients A
and B. Both of these complaints were made after the
hearing into the First Dr. Yazdanfar Case had already
commenced and therefore could not be part of that
