DIALOG completed the design for this project sited on part of the eastern
component of the Southeast False Creek lands. This neighbourhood was the
industrial heartland of Vancouver through the 1950s. The agenda for Southeast
False Creek was to create a model, world class, sustainable community. For Onni,
DIALOG designed a 340-unit mixed use project on the eastern component of the
Southeast False Creek private lands.
This architecturally iconic condominium mixed-use development is completely
unique in Vancouver. In this dramatic design, brick clad street front blocks
reinforce the traditional grain and scale of Main Street and Quebec Street.
The building is a complete reinvention of the residential tower, with an inventive
Skybridge design which lies diagonally atop two mid-rise buildings. The
Skybridge’s north-west positioning maximizes water, cityscape and mountain
views, while optimizing sun exposure, reducing heat gain and making effective
solar control possible. In addition, a new courtyard / public space will be focused
on the structural support for the Skybridge component. IBI Group Inc. is providing
construction documentation services.
