Services: Architecture Cost: $70 M Size: 29,060 sq m (312,802 sq ft) Completion: 2013 Location: Vancouver, British Columbia 2300 Kingsway is a mixed-use development located on the Kingsway corridor at Nanaimo Street in Vancouver. The development consists of a 22-storey residential tower with commercial use at ground floor, two 8-storey residential mid-rise buildings with a total of 423 residential units consisting of a mix of condos and townhouses. The development also includes a 35-space child care facility, pharmacy, grocery store, and numerous other retail outlets. The 4800 sq. ft. daycare was designed to a LEED® Gold equivalent which will be operated firstly by Collingwood Neighbourhood House and then by the City of Vancouver in the future. The development sits on the slope of a hill and thus many of the units enjoy commanding views of the city and mountains. The facility features a vegetation wall which changes through the years; an innovative playground for sustainability education, and a green roof. This child care facility will become a sustainability icon for the surrounding neighbourhood. There is also a pedestrian mews for public access.
