Adding linking verbs In diagramming we work with predicative nominative and predicative adjective, both use as main verb the linking verbs. Representation

Subject verb Pred. Adj or Pred. Nom
Predicative nominative: It renames the subject. Look at the example below.
Peter and Sam are police officers.
Peter
In this sentence the subject is repeated again but this time with a different name. Peter and Sam are the subject is equal to Police officers.
Sam
Base line + vertical line over that does not cross.
are police officers
Predicative adjective: It modifies the subject of the sentence.
The food looks delicious and tasty. food looks delicious and tasty
In this case we are modifying the subject with adjective.
Both are connected by linking verbs and the way they are representing is the same, even if the sentences is pred. nom or pred. adj.
