Clinical Connection
I love my clinical site! The sonographers I work with are extremely knowledgeable
and welcoming. They explain why they do certain techniques, how they know a
certain pathology is present, how they identify sonographic criteria and tips that
will help me. They also explain the clinical signs to me and the correlation to what
we find in ultrasound. My techs have helped me improve my scanning, and they
trust me with exams and taking care of the patients. They are so good with patient
care and I have learned so much from them about the right way to comfort patients
(giving them good information while not telling them anything I shouldn’t).
Sonography is not just another diagnostic test. It is a very accurate and thorough
exam that provides images that often are not easily obtained with other modalities.
I’ve seen a lot of sad cases, such as cancer patients, miscarriages and death. But it
has helped me become even more interested in helping patients and treating them
as I would my own family members.
I love sonography even more now, and it’s definitely in part because of the
wonderful technologists and radiologists I work with. I have only positive things to
say about my site and sonography!
