This month ’ s “ Now On The Tee ” Student Spotlight is :
Ty Bogey
Ty is 10 years old and has been in our Junior High-Performance Program since he was five years old . He is a relentless worker at improving his game and has a passion for golf you rarely see in someone so young . Ty is an outstanding student and will begin attending Trinity Prep in the fall . For a young , competitive golfer who has achieved so much at an early age , Ty remains incredibly grounded and is such a wonderful young person . In just five years his golfing accomplishments are mind blowing ! He has played in 67 U . S . Kids local events with 27 wins , five U . S . Kids Local Season Tour Championships , U . S . Kids Regional Events ( two Top Five and seven Top 10 finishes ), five State Tournaments ( one Top Three Finish ), four U . S . Kid Junior World Championship appearances and one Callaway Junior World Championship appearance . In 2016 Ty won “ best pee wee golf swing in the world ” ( one of the judges was Jack Nicklaus ) and in 2019 , Ty was a Regional Champion for Drive , Chip and Putt and Sub Regional Qualifier ( TPC Sawgrass ).

When did you start playing golf ? At 2 years old
What or who got you interested in golf ? I found some plastic golf clubs in my closet and started playing with them in the house .
What is your favorite course ? TPC Sawgrass
What is your current focus in your golf game ( what are you trying to improve right now )? Impact position
What do you love about golf ? The challenge
Favorite club in your bag ? Putter
Which shot makes you the most nervous or is the most difficult on the course ? 100 approach shot .
What is your favorite color ? Blue
Who is your favorite PGA or LPGA player ? Rory McIlroy
When you are not playing golf , what is your favorite thing to do ? Play basketball with my dad .
What are you golfing goals ? To play golf at Duke University and play on the PGA Tour .
What is something ( s ) you did in the Learning Center you really enjoy ? Playing best shot games against Coach Steve in the short game area .
