Barcelona and the region of Catalunya has, in recent years become one of the most popular and desired destinations in Europe. Located south of the city is a Catalan seaside town called Sitges. An ideal place to spend a relaxing day in it microclimate (over 320 days of sun annually), whether it is visiting the numerous museums and magnificent colonial seafront houses or relaxing on one of the many terrace bars and excellent restaurants, there are well over 100 to choose from. For golfers, a hidden gem is Terramar Club, ideally located overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The Sitges Terramar Golf Club is the second oldest in Catalonia, being founded in 1927 and designed by FW Hawtree, Manuel Piñero and Jim Fazio. The course is not particularly difficult but the 6431 yard par 72 course has strategically placed greens and water hazards on many holes, which makes the golfer use strategy rather than power on this all-together pleasant course. It is located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea in the town of Sitges (Barcelona), a popular area that is known for its beautiful beaches and microclimate that permits golf to be played in perfect conditions at any time of the year.
