Royal Bled Golf Course is the oldest and largest golf course in Slovenia and was designed by prominent golf architect Donald Harradine . Set in the foothills of the Slovenian Alps , the course offers beautiful panoramic views over the mountain range and neighbouring town of Bled , as well as an exceptional golf experience . Bled Golf Course is currently going through a renovation project under the design and direction of William and Howard Swan , with a view to elevating its reputation and facilities to being among the best in the world and reopens on June 1 , 2017 . Until then , 18 holes are playable , nine of which are on the newly-renovated Kings Course . Also available is a new state-of-the-art golf academy offering expert tuition from PGA-qualified professionals .
