New Regulation concerning Low Risk Substances
Regulation (EU) 2017/1432
The EU Commission has just set new approval criteria for low risk active substances, amending Annex II Point 5 of Regulation (EC) 1107/2009. These new criteria entered into force on 28 August 2017 (Regulation (EU) 2017/1432).
Regulation EC 1107/2009 intended to favor the inclusion of the so called low-risk active substances and to facilitate the placing on the market of plant protection products containing them. These low-risk active substances were defined in point 5 of Annex II of Regulation 1107/2009 as those that did not meet any of the following categories:
