Isaiah 49:1-13 and Isaiah 50:4-9 share two more of Isaiah’s “Servant Songs.” We heard one of these
“Songs” already back in Isaiah 42. The Messiah came into this world not to be served, but to serve and
give his life as a ransom for many. He would accomplish the most glorious and wonderful blessings
that God planned for all humanity. What truths of this Servant and his work does God give us to
treasure in today’s reading?
