Along with the Christmas
gifts, we presented 150 gift
certificates to the Heim director. These will enable the
families to purchase winter
boots, clothes or whatever
their families need the most.

It is a huge task but we serve a faithful God.
Prayers for Arabic Bibles was answered when a Bible
store in Austria sent Daniel five New Testaments in
Arabic. Such a wonderful gift for Abdullah, a young
Muslim man from Iraq who attended the house
church and after hearing about Jesus brokenly cried
out to the Lord to show him the plan and purpose for
his life. Just a few days later Abdullah sent Daniel a
Christmas greeting including the scripture passage
from Acts 3:22-26 and comments by John Piper! The
ensuing conversations were awesome and we believe
that God is leading Abdullah into his Kingdom.
Another of the refugees, Hydar, recently shared the
news from his wife that his four-yearold son had been injured by a
bomb exploding outside of
their home in Iraq. His
son underwent surgery to
remove the shrapnel from
his eyes and face, and is
expected to be in the hospital
for the next three months. We were
privileged to pray for him during the time of his son's
operation (which took place on a Sunday) and following the service, we received news that the operation
was a success. Hydar speaks a little English and is
learning German, but through the power of prayer,
he is learning about the faithfulness of God and the
unconditional love of the father.
