emotionally and academically rekindled my desire to work
with children during their formative years. I had worked
with many of these children in Head Start. Most of them
were still behind in one or more areas. Some became dropouts. I wondered how their learning experiences would
have differed had they had someone to work with them as
small children.
I left the public school system in 1999 to fulfill my vision
of serving God by serving others. My heart’s desire is to
teach every child possible to lay up spiritual knowledge by
treasuring the Word of God in his or her heart, “making it
a lamp unto their feet, and a light unto their path….”
We started the 2007-2008 school year with eighteen students and ended with nineteen. We learned right away
that we didn’t have room for that many students, but our
waiting list stays long. We wish we could take every child
on the list, but we would need a larger facility and more
help in all areas. The hardest part of our job is having to
tell some parents that we are full, and all we can do is add
their child’s name to our long, ever-growing waiting list.
Our goal is to accommodate all who are in need, but at this
time we will have to leave that in God’s hands.
Praise God, we finished our fourteenth year on May 16,
2014 in a new place of five years and with twenty students!
