shuttle service. Guests can enjoy a one-hour
trip, four-hour trip, full day or spend a few days
of paddling and camping on the river. Whether
you are a beginner or a seasoned paddler,
looking for a casual one-hour paddle or a day
long adventure, Lee and Pati can recommend a
trip for you.
They raised their kids there. The kids help when
needed. So do the people who have worked
there for decades. The campground has 100
sites. Pets are welcome.
There are plenty of activities for children and
teens, such as volleyball, basketball, ping-pong,
and horseshoes. Registered camp guests may
use the heated pool and splash pad at no extra
cost. Pati says, “The family atmosphere is good
for kids and good for teenagers.” There is also
free Wi-Fi.
All sales are by reservation only. They will bring
all registered guests up stream all the way to
Lake Mille Lacs if you like and then you can
paddle down the river and undock at their
private dock right where you parked your car.
For only $15, you can go tubing and have a
relaxing two-mile float down the Rum River that
includes: parking, sales tax, ride upstream, tube,
and getting off at their private dock. The only
thing you need to bring is lunch and friends.
Expect float times between one and a half to
three hours depending on river conditions. The
campground is located four miles southwest of
downtown Isanti, just off US Highway 65. They
are open from April through October. For more
