were hooked. Even after we moved to Colorado,
where we live now, we all still love going
back to Ruttger’s for a week every single year.
Ruttger’s food is phenomenal.
“It starts from the top down, with the Ruttger’s
family and staff. The hospitality and kindness
they extend to every single person is so
genuine and warm. They are incredible, such
good people. They treat everybody like family.”
Her sons, who were preschoolers when they
first came to Ruttger’s, now are 18 and 20. When
the Groover family first visited Ruttger’s, the
children had fun at a Kids’ Kamp. “It was a big
draw for us,” Jeri says.
When he was 4, one of the Groover sons met
another 4-year-old, and the two became best
buddies and have remained so for years. “Our
family has become like family with the other
family,” she says. “Our son just got back from
Oklahoma where he spent time with his best
friend.”
Jeri has memories of the long tables of families
representing multiple generations, eating
together in the dining room at Ruttger’s, plus
hours spent on board games, pontoon and
coffee cruises. “Bingo is huge there,” she says.
In addition to swimming, fishing, and boating,
Ruttger’s offers nature walks, canoe and kayak
tours, bonfires, golf and water tubing.
