Creekside Community and Aquatics Center is
OPEN
The wait is finally over ! The $ 20 million community center is officially open , and citizens of all ages are enjoying the next level of “ quality of life .”
Saturday , Oct . 12 , was a big day for Harrison . The Creekside Community and Aquatics Center hosted a grand opening so anyone could enjoy all the facility ’ s activities without a membership . More than 1,000 people came to help mark this special occasion . For now , hours are 6 a . m . to 9 p . m ., seven days a week .
The Harrison Public Schools offered the land to the City to purchase . The oldest portion of the 1950s cinder block structure was the former high school and junior high , which was demolished to make way for the new Aquatics Center . The glass structure shows off an eight-lane competition-size pool , diving board , warm water therapy pool , and kiddie pool . The facility is ADA accessible , and a family bathroom includes an adult-size changing table . Private showers and changing
