The store ’ s story began long before its doors opened in 1994 , with roots going back to Chris ’ s grandparents , who moved from California to Arkansas in the late ‘ 70s . Their love for nature and the outdoors brought them to this area , but they quickly realized there was something missing : a local health food store .

That ’ s when fate stepped in . They met Mini Mae , the owner of a small vegetarian health food store , and a friendship blossomed . By 1992 , Chris ’ s grandparents had bought Gather Mountain Health Food in Harrison , and just two years later , they expanded their vision by opening Nature ’ s Wonders . From its humble beginnings , the store has grown into a full-service natural grocery store , known for carrying a wide range of fresh fruits and vegetables , supplements , health and beauty products , allergy-friendly foods , dairy , frozen and fresh meats .

Chris Rost , who practically grew up in the store , inherited his family ’ s passion for the health food industry . As a child , he loved spending time in Nature ’ s Wonders ,

helping out and learning the ropes . That early experience shaped his lifelong dedication to the business , and now , as the third-generation owner , Chris , along with his wife Michelle , has been running the store for the last 15 years . Together , they ’ ve continued to grow Nature ’ s Wonders while maintaining the family ’ s original commitment to providing high-quality , natural products for the Harrison community . In 2020 , they opened a second location in Branson , Missouri .
