Meet Jeffrey Nielsen : HARRISON CHAMBER ’ S NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
There ’ s a fresh face leading the Harrison Chamber of Commerce , and it ’ s someone who knows a thing or two about building strong communities . Jeffrey Nielsen , the Chamber ’ s new Executive Director , is bringing decades of experience and a passion for community improvement to Harrison . While he may be new to chamber work , his impressive background shows he ’ s no stranger to leadership , collaboration , and getting things done .

Jeffrey Nielsen , the Chamber ’ s new Executive Director , is bringing decades of experience and a passion for community improvement to Harrison . While he may be new to chamber work , his impressive background shows he ’ s no stranger to leadership , collaboration , and getting things done .
A CAREER ROOTED IN COMMUNITY
Jeffrey ’ s journey to Harrison might surprise you . Before stepping into his current role , he spent 22 years working with Board of Directors , including 20 years as the Executive Vice President of the Houston Contractors Association and two years as President of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Greater Houston . Though these were construction-related trade associations , his work focused on uniting people , tackling challenges , and making impactful changes — skills that translate seamlessly to his new role .
“ I ’ ve always been someone who cares deeply about improving the community around me ,” Jeffrey shared . “ From working with city council members in Houston to serving on municipal and community boards , I ’ ve always felt it ’ s important to give back .”
WHY HARRISON ?
So , what drew Jeffrey to Harrison ? He ’ s excited to help grow and support businesses of all sizes — from mom-andpop shops to major manufacturers . “ Harrison has so much to offer ,” he said . “ The location is fantastic , surrounded by the beauty of the Ozarks . We have topnotch schools , a thriving hospital , and a strong sense of community . Plus , the outdoor opportunities here are second to none . It ’ s a great place to live , work , and play .”
Jeffrey also highlighted some of the unique strengths that set Harrison apart , like its prime location at the crossroads of major roadways , its welcoming people , and exciting amenities like the new Creekside Community Center . With all these assets , he sees Harrison as a city poised for growth while maintaining its small-town charm .
LESSONS LEARNED AND A VISION FOR THE FUTURE
Reflecting on his career , Jeffrey emphasized the importance of patience and persistence . “ Success doesn ’ t happen overnight . It ’ s earned through hard work and time . The little things add up and lead to big changes ,” he explained . “ I ’ ve learned to listen to people , make decisions I can stand by , and not try to fix what isn ’ t broken .”
As for his goals for the Chamber , Jeffrey has some big ideas . He wants to :
• Amplify the Chamber ’ s voice on legislative issues , ensuring Harrison ’ s business community has a seat at the table .
• Establish Harrison as a regional hub for entrepreneurs , supporting small business growth .
• Strengthen ties with the beef and poultry industries , which make up a significant part of the local economy .
• Implement a beautification plan to attract more tourists and make Harrison even more welcoming .
“ These steps will help make our business community stronger , more attractive , and better equipped to thrive in the future ,” he said .
THE CHAMBER AS A CONNECTOR
Jeffrey sees the Chamber as the bridge that connects businesses , local government , and community organizations . “ We ’ re in a unique position to bring everyone together and work toward common goals . By focusing on collaboration , we can keep improving Harrison for everyone — residents , businesses , and visitors alike .”
A PERSONAL TOUCH
When asked about his philosophy as a leader , Jeffrey ’ s response was thoughtful . “ Change is inevitable , but it ’ s about making that change fit the
Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce
