Hello friends … A few big stories in this edition of Destination Ozarks that we want to share with you .
Downtown Harrison has had more attention this year than it ever has in my time at the Chamber . In economic development , we often simplify the litmus test for a community when hosting a prospective business is “ show me your schools , show me your hospital , and show me your downtown .” Prospects can often get a good feel for a community based on these three aspects . Downtown Harrison is soon to be home to a variety of restaurants , stores , and continued events to encourage people to go downtown as a destination . North Arkansas College is celebrating its fifty year anniversary . Fifty years of providing education to students from all over and supporting our local business community . I took concurrent classes from Northark while I was at Harrison High School , but the more business and community leaders I meet in Harrison the more I realize the impact our two year institution has had on the North Arkansas region .
