Nobilis Robinson

Nobilis is one of the area’s oldest courses,
designed by Dave Thomas and opened in
1998. This short course runs over gently
rolling terrain and, while laid out on a
smaller stretch of land than others in the
region, the natural pine forest creates
those attractive and familiar avenues to
play between. These same trees wrap
around behind greens, creating an
enticing backdrop for approach shots,
while the Taurus Mountains can often be
seen rising above the treeline.
Water comes in to play frequently
with two of the par threes calling for
demanding shots over lakes, while several
other shots flirt with water. And then
there’s the River Acisu, which brushes up
against the course and adds to the setting.
Nobilis Golf Club promises relaxing golf
with generous fairways and several short
par fours and par fives. The tall, airy lines
of trees are everywhere but, typically,
they remain at a respectful distance.
It is therefore left to the course’s 63
bunkers and seven lakes to set the golfing
challenge. Nowhere do these combine
more dramatically than on the par three
9th, named Blue Monster, with a short tee
shot over one of the course’s lakes.
