The Verde is a nine hole course that weaves between the two
18-hole courses. It can be played on its own or it can be combined
with either the front nine of the Old or the New, to form the
‘Select’ course. Opened in 2001, it drifts elegantly between
the pines and over and around water. It has similar traits to the
New course in terms of its design, rhythm and gentle changes
in elevation, and it is every bit as testing, too. The par four 2nd
demands a big drive over water and this is one of the holes that
was recently lengthened to make the course more challenging.
Several tee boxes were extended to make the Verde course a
strong test in its own right and, with holes like the par four 4th,
golfers may well want to play the course a second time. The hole
drops into a dell of scattered pines, before switching right to the
