Gloria Old was designed by French golf course architect, Michel
Gayon. It opened in 1997, and has acquired the status of a
classic, with holes gliding between towering umbrella pines that
enshrine fairways and leave golfers in no doubt that they’ll be
squeezed from tee to green.
It helps that so many flags are on view. The level landscape gives
the pines an even more imposing presence, while the only respite
from the thousands of towering trees comes in the form of seven
lakes. That may not be much respite at all, especially as three of
the par threes must cross wide stretches of water.
The Old course is spread over 190 acres and while similar in
length to the Gloria New course alongside, it plays several shots
