34 . Discovering a no-frills local gem of a course on your travels , that ’ s every bit as good as the more hyped ones in the area at a fraction of the cost . The kind of course where there ’ s hardly anyone around and you simply pop your green fee in an honesty box .
35 . Appreciating the wonderful scenery and landscapes as you play . It could be volcanoes and lava in Iceland , brooding mountains in Scotland or Arizona desert dotted with cacti .
36 . And finally , the 19th hole experience has to be one of the best things we love about golf . After walking off the final green , enjoying a drink or two in the clubhouse bar or terrace overlooking the course , to check your scorecard and discuss the highs and lows of the round .
