But golf is only part of Ayrshire’ s charm. The region’ s coastline is dotted with welcoming towns like Troon and Girvan, each offering its own distinct character. Girvan, in particular, has gained recognition as one of the UK’ s top dog-friendly locations, boasting expansive beaches and pet-accommodating lodgings— ideal for golfers travelling with four-legged companions.
Ayrshire’ s appeal also lies in its rich cultural and natural heritage. The iconic Turnberry Lighthouse, perched on a rugged coastal promontory, and the striking silhouette of Ailsa Craig, a volcanic island rising from the sea, are just a few of the region’ s visual treasures.
