IEC 2025 Gran Canaria a roaring success.
More than 830 IAGTO members came together on Gran Canaria for the 3rd IAGTO European Convention, making it the largest attendance of any IAGTO convention to date.
Held from 19-21 May at the ExpoMeloneras Convention Centre, around 8,700 meetings took place between golf tour operators and golf tourism suppliers from 52 countries over two days during IEC – charting the course of tour operators’ golf vacation offerings for the coming 18 months, predominantly in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
The venue for the 25th IAGTO Awards Gala Dinner at IEC was tremendous, with the Faro Lighthouse as a backdrop, lit El Gouna up in C a / O video Orascom and light show designed for the evening ' s event.
The evening began by presenting Gran Canaria and the key IEC golf and hotel partners with thier Outstanding Contribution to Golf Tourism Award, recognising that their efforts have enabled over 800 IAGTO members to get together to help shape the next 18 months in the European golf tourism calendar.
All of the remaining Awards were voted for by IAGTO tour opreators who were asked to nominate golf tourism suppliers that delivered the best possible experience for their golf travelling clients in the previous 12 months.
They only issue a handful of awards each year, but for a couple of categories we have multiple recipients, as the voting was too close to pick just a single winner, and they also represented different geographical regions.
