Lowry confirmed for 2025 Amgen Irish Open at The K Club

Past champion Shane Lowry will tee it up at The K Club from September 4 – 7, 2025, as the Amgen Irish Open returns to County Kildare. Tickets are now on sale.
Lowry, who made history by winning the title as an amateur in 2009, will mark his 17th consecutive appearance in Ireland’ s national open. He remains the only amateur to have won the event and is the most recent player to win on the DP World Tour before turning professional. A decade later, he captured the Claret Jug at The 148th Open at Royal Portrush.
“ There’ s no better feeling than playing on home soil,” said Lowry, who finished T3 at The K Club in 2023.“ Irish fans are the best in the world— supportive of all players, not just the Irish. I’ ve had strong performances in recent years and would love to win it again.”
Lowry’ s last three finishes at the Irish Open: T9, T3, and T12— just two shots behind Vincent Norrman in 2023.
The K Club, venue of the 2006 Ryder Cup and 2016 Irish Open( won by Rory McIlroy), will host the tournament for a third time and is also set to stage the centenary edition in 2027.
The Amgen Irish Open remains a key fixture on the DP World Tour’ s‘ Back 9’— a series of major national opens leading to the season-ending Play-Offs.
It’ s also a prime warm-up for the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage, just three weeks later.
This year, Rasmus Højgaard edged Rory McIlroy by one stroke at Royal County Down to become a five-time DP World Tour winner and the second consecutive Scandinavian champion, following Norrman in 2023.
The Irish Open’ s champion list includes legends like Ballesteros, Faldo, Harrington, Rahm, Olazábal, Langer, and Torrance.
Fans are advised to book early. In 2023, Sunday General Admission, Premium Experiences, and Ticket + packages all sold out.
