Salobre( New)
Designed by Ron Kirby in 2008 and recently updated under David Williams’ Master Plan, the New Course is our most unique golf course in Gran Canaria. Its layout, carved into volcanic ravines, demands precision and adaptability at every turn. In November 2026, the New Course returns to its full 18-hole( Par 70) layout. This reopening marks the completion of a meticulous refinement process focused on green excellence and sustainability. Following the PGA’ s Tee It Forward philosophy, the design allows players to adjust the course length to their hitting distance, ensuring a fluid and enjoyable game for all levels visiting this Maspalomas golf destination.
Maspalomas Golf
The majority of Gran Canaria’ s golf courses are in the south of the island, which is one of the sunniest areas in the world. Here we can find the breathtaking Maspalomas Golf, surrounded by a nature park of sand dunes, a protected area of more than 400 hectares, with views of the Atlantic Ocean, palm trees and fine golden sandy beaches on the horizon. The dunes which surround the course are a feature incorporated into the design by Mackenzie Ross. Long and flat, with wide fairways, the proximity of the sea and its gentle breezes make this course a pleasant experience, thanks to the alizé winds. Maspalomas Golf celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2008, a memorable event attended by Green Jacket winner José María Olazábal.
Salobre( Old)
Inaugurated in 1999, the Old Course is the most established layout at our resort and a cornerstone of golf in Gran Canaria. Originally designed by Roland Favré, this 18-hole( Par 71) course boasts a prestigious history, having hosted top-tier tournaments such as the Spanish PGA in 2006. Since 2022, the Old Course has been part of a master renovation plan led by architect David Williams. The primary goal is sustainability and landscape integration, transitioning the course toward a“ desert style” aesthetic that optimizes natural resources and respects the arid environment of southern Gran Canaria. With new bunkers and renovated tee areas, this Maspalomas golf course offers a perfect balance between technical challenge and harmony with its volcanic surroundings.
