El Paraiso
Designed in 1973 by Gary Player, this 18 hole par-71 designed course is set out in the peaceful El Paraiso valley with the backdrop of the majestic‘ La Concha’ mountain to the north and the sparkling Mediterranean to the south. El Paraiso is known for providing one of the best championship course layouts on the coast, and much investment has gone into the course in recent years to maintain its top condition. This well-laid out course offers lush and wide fairways, which are bordered by heavy rough and divided by streams, many of which are out of sight. El Paraiso is very popular on the coast due to reasonable rates, the friendly atmosphere in its terrace restaurant, and weekly competitions.
Cabopino
Set in the hills above Marbella, Cabopino Golf Marbella is one of the Costa del Sol’ s most scenic and enjoyable resort courses. This par-71 layout combines strategy, elevation changes and superb Mediterranean views, with the dramatic downhill 3rd standing out as its signature hole. Water adds challenge across parts of the back nine, while tight fairways reward accuracy over power. Immaculately presented and full of character, Cabopino appeals to both holiday golfers and experienced players, offering a relaxed atmosphere, quality practice facilities and excellent value in a prime Marbella setting.
Finca Cortesin
The Finca Cortesín Golf Club was founded with the intention of becoming a reference in the golf world. The course measures almost 7000 m. from the black marker stakes, making it one of the longest in Europe. It is a par 72 course, with an average difficulty rating, although difficulty will increase if the back markers are used. The different teeing areas and the wide rolling fairways allow most players to reach the green easily. Harald Hurgan, the internationally renowned landscape architect, collaborated with Cabell Robinson, the course designer, on the surrounding landscaping.
Valderrama
Designed by Robert Trent Jones and lovingly tended by owner Jaime Ortiz Patiño this is one of the continents toughest challenges. You may return home shell-shocked but should be content with the thought that you are one of the few able to boast:‘ Valderrama? Yes, I’ ve played there’. The 4th hole is a par five of spectacular beauty ending on a raised green by the side of which plunges a cascade of water on its way to the greenside lake. With recent improvements to the layout, Valderrama is in prime condition and Mr. Patiño only aims to make it better: the‘ Augusta of Europe’.
