La Zagaleta
Based around an 18th century“ Cortijo” which is currently the Club House, Santa Maria boasts stunning gardens and fine leisure facilities including tennis and lawn bowling. Set amidst unparalleled beauty of the Andalucian countryside, the course traces the contours of two valleys in which the natural vegetation, streams and four lakes form natural hazards. The course is not long but full of interest and with each hole having it’ s own character. Many of the tees are elevated and the views from the 10th hole to the 16th are breathtaking on a fine day. Santa Maria is not only considered one of the most exquisite Golf and Country Clubs on the Costa del Sol, but also one of the friendliest. The addition of a newly built 10th hole in 2020 increases this course to Par72.
Santa Clara
Zagaleta New Course was designed in 2005 by“ Gaunt & Marnoch”, who took care of every detail to create a recreational and private space that merges with nature in an 18-hole course with beautiful obstacles and doglegs. Only here, in such a magical setting, can you see deer and fallow deer, among others, only a few metres away while hitting the ball. Without a doubt, it is an evocative and exclusive space from top to bottom. To complete the experience, the course has an elegant Club House with a large terrace and views of the vast countryside and its beautiful lake.
Located a few minutes from the city centre and the amenities of Marbella, Santa Clara Golf Club is one of the best golf courses on the Costa del Sol for a stimulating and unforgettable experience. The golf course at Santa Clara is designed by Enrique Canales Busquest. The large greens and a variety of tees are complimented by a design that is respectful to the natural environment of indigenous wildlife and vegetation. The par 71 layout is 5,878 metres long but has different tees to cater for all types of golfer. The course is cleverly 80 per cent free of rough, further making it the ideal course for less experienced golfers. That said, beware of some tricky greens that can run up scores. Santa Clara has a spectacular corner( holes 12-14) and another advantage is that from every tee the correspond green is visible.
